About the Retatrutide Pen
The Clean Peptides Retatrutide pen is a pre-filled dosing pen with a click mechanism, delivered ready to use — no reconstitution or bacteriostatic water is required. You dial your dose in clicks and inject subcutaneously. It is available in four strengths (15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg total content), each delivering 300 clicks across the full pen. Retatrutide is an investigational triple agonist (GLP-1 / GIP / glucagon); for its mechanism, titration rationale, side effects and full safety information, see the Retatrutide Dosage Guide (vial version).
Pen Specifications by Strength
| Pen strength | Total content | Total clicks | Per click | Max per administration | Needles included |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Retatrutide Pen 15 mg | 15 mg | 300 clicks | 0.0500 mg (≈50 mcg) | 60 clicks = 3 mg | 4 |
| Retatrutide Pen 20 mg | 20 mg | 300 clicks | 0.0667 mg (≈67 mcg) | 60 clicks = 4 mg | 8 |
| Retatrutide Pen 30 mg | 30 mg | 300 clicks | 0.1000 mg (≈100 mcg) | 60 clicks = 6 mg | 12 |
| Retatrutide Pen 40 mg | 40 mg | 300 clicks | 0.1333 mg (≈133 mcg) | 60 clicks = 8 mg | 20 |
Formula: dose (mg) = clicks × per-click mg. Or: clicks = dose (mg) ÷ per-click mg.
Weekly Titration Expressed in Clicks
Retatrutide is injected once weekly and titrated up over ~12 weeks. The standard schedule mapped to each pen strength:
| Weekly target | 15 mg pen | 20 mg pen | 30 mg pen | 40 mg pen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 mg | 40 clicks | 30 clicks | 20 clicks | 15 clicks |
| 4 mg | 80 clicks — split into 2 injections | 60 clicks (max) | 40 clicks | 30 clicks |
| 8 mg | 160 clicks — split into 2 injections | 120 clicks — split into 2 injections | 80 clicks — split into 2 injections | 60 clicks (max) |
| 12 mg | 240 clicks — split into 2 injections | 180 clicks — split into 2 injections | 120 clicks — split into 2 injections | 90 clicks — split into 2 injections |
Each pen delivers a maximum of 60 clicks per administration. Any weekly dose whose click count exceeds 60 must be split into two injections (e.g. two sites, back to back), or a higher-strength pen should be used. Do not skip titration — start at the lowest step and increase only as tolerated.
How to Use the Pen
- Wash your hands and attach a fresh needle to the pen; remove the outer and inner caps.
- Prime the pen if it is new: dial 1–2 clicks and press with the tip pointing up until a droplet appears, clearing air from the needle.
- Dial your dose by counting the clicks for your target (see the tables above). The pen clicks audibly and tactilely for each increment.
- Choose and clean an injection site — lower abdomen (2–3 in / 5 cm from the navel), upper thigh, or back of the upper arm. Rotate sites weekly.
- Inject at a 45–90° angle into a pinched skin fold; press the plunger fully and hold for ~10 seconds.
- Remove and safely discard the needle in a sharps container after each use — never reuse or recap a used needle.
- Recap the pen and return it to the fridge (2–8 °C).
Practical Notes
- Inject once weekly, same day each week. Retatrutide’s half-life is approximately 6 days.
- Count clicks carefully — each pen doses to the nearest click, which corresponds to a different mg amount depending on pen strength (see table above).
- Track the pen total: 300 clicks equals the full labeled content of the pen.
- GI side effects (nausea, etc.) are dose-dependent and most common during titration — this is exactly why the click system exists: to step up gradually.
- Full dosing rationale, contraindications, stacking and monitoring guidance are covered in the Retatrutide Dosage Guide.
Pen vs Vial: Which Format Fits Your Research?
The pen and vial versions contain the same total amount of Retatrutide at the same ≥99% purity. The vial is supplied as lyophilized powder for manual reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, offering flexible concentration control (see the Retatrutide Dosage Guide for reconstitution and syringe-based titration). The pen is pre-measured with an integrated click-dose mechanism, requiring no reconstitution — dial the clicks and inject.
Key Takeaways
- Four pen strengths are available: 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg, each with 300 total clicks.
- Per-click mg amount differs by strength — always confirm the click-to-mg schedule for your specific pen before dosing.
- Maximum 60 clicks per administration; higher weekly doses must be split into two injections.
- No reconstitution needed — ready to use straight from the fridge.
- For full titration rationale, safety and contraindication information, see the main Retatrutide Dosage Guide.
